Within CUFA, experts from the Department of the Middle East and the Czech Institute of Egyptology work on the cultural areas of North Africa at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University.
In 2019, the Center for African Studies of the Faculty of Arts, Charles University was also established.
In 2019, the members of the Cold War research group recieved the Charles University research grant PRIMUS to support research on the project „African and Middle Eastern Elites Educated in former Socialist Countries: Studies, Trajectories, and Mindsets.
